About
The U16 Indiana NorthStars program is structured to provide a family friendly experience by focusing on moderation. This includes moderation in travel, player fees and the number of games scheduled. Many high school programs take on off-season conditioning, workouts and instruction. Our goal is to support their efforts by extending, not overlapping, the schools programs.
We attempt to coordinate our schedule to ensure our players are able to participate in any spring and summer offering the school baseball team may have. We know how difficult it can be for the players and their families when schedules overlap. We will make every attempt to minimize these conflicts to prevent burnout and overuse injuries.
The Manager, John Fansher, has been coaching various youth activities for 32 years, and baseball for 21 consecutive years. He previously coached the Noblesville Heat and the USAthletic Nationals. He also was on the Board of Directors for Noblesville Youth Baseball and served as the Program Director.
Assistant Coach, Loren Temple, is a true baseball junkie. He has coached with the Delaware County (DC) Lightning, USAthletic Nationals and is currently an assistant coach at Delta High School. Loren is a true student of the game and all of its intricacies.
Both John and Loren have a son on the team. Some may see this as problematic. We like the maturity and experience they bring to the team. They care about much more than just winning. They play the players they keep on the roster and work hard to develop them as players and as young men. In addition to teaching baseball skills and fundamentals using the most up to date techniques, they will demonstrate and teach responsibility, accountability and sportsmanship.
Most of all, we want summer baseball to productive and fun. We believe the fun comes from performing at a high level; gaining confidence in yourself and your teammates; building relationships with your teammates and their families; playing a schedule that is indicative of “play” not “work”; and WINNING. Make no mistake about it. This is competitive baseball at the highest level. We will play the best teams we can schedule.
